THOUGHT OF THE DAY
July 14,2020
• Heaven is closer than we think every moment of every day.
Matthew 24:36-42 AMP
[36] “But of that [exact] day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son [in His humanity], but the Father alone. [37] For the coming of the Son of Man (the Messiah) will be just like the days of Noah. [38] For as in those days before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the [very] day when Noah entered the ark, [39] and they did not know or understand until the flood came and swept them all away; so will the coming of the Son of Man be [unexpected judgment]. [40] At that time two men will be in the field; one will be taken [for judgment] and one will be left. [41] Two women will be grinding at the mill; one will be taken [for judgment] and one will be left. [42] “So be alert [give strict attention, be cautious and active in faith], for you do not know which day [whether near or far] your Lord is coming.
Luke 12:19-20 AMP
[19] And I will say to my soul, “Soul, you have many good things stored up, [enough] for many years; rest and relax, eat, drink and be merry (celebrate continually).”‘ [20] But God said to him, ‘You fool! This very night your soul is required of you; and now who will own all the things you have prepared?’

Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 AMP
[9] Two are better than one because they have a more satisfying return for their labor; [10] for if either of them falls, the one will lift up his companion. But woe to him who is alone when he falls and does not have another to lift him up. [11] Again, if two lie down together, then they keep warm; but how can one be warm alone? [12] And though one can overpower him who is alone, two can resist him. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.
Matthew 18:18-20 AMP
[18] I assure you and most solemnly say to you, whatever you bind [forbid, declare to be improper and unlawful] on earth shall have [already] been bound in heaven, and whatever you loose [permit, declare lawful] on earth shall have [already] been loosed in heaven. [19] “Again I say to you, that if two believers on earth agree [that is, are of one mind, in harmony] about anything that they ask [within the will of God], it will be done for them by My Father in heaven. [20] For where two or three are gathered in My name [meeting together as My followers], I am there among them.”
Acts 1:14 AMP
[14] All these with one mind and one purpose were continually devoting themselves to prayer, [waiting together] along with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with His brothers.
Acts 2:1-4 AMP
[1] When the day of Pentecost had come, they were all together in one place, [2] and suddenly a sound came from heaven like a rushing violent wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. [3] There appeared to them tongues resembling fire, which were being distributed [among them], and they rested on each one of them [as each person received the Holy Spirit]. [4] And they were all filled [that is, diffused throughout their being] with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues (different languages), as the Spirit was giving them the ability to speak out [clearly and appropriately].
Acts 2:46-47 AMP
[46] Day after day they met in the temple [area] continuing with one mind, and breaking bread in various private homes. They were eating their meals together with joy and generous hearts, [47] praising God continually, and having favor with all the people. And the Lord kept adding to their number daily those who were being saved.
Acts 5:12-16 AMP
[12] At the hands of the apostles many signs and wonders (attesting miracles) were continually taking place among the people. And by common consent they all met together [at the temple] in [the covered porch called] Solomon’s portico. [13] But none of the rest [of the people, the non-believers] dared to associate with them; however, the people were holding them in high esteem and were speaking highly of them. [14] More and more believers in the Lord, crowds of men and women, were constantly being added to their number, [15] to such an extent that they even carried their sick out into the streets and put them on cots and sleeping pads, so that when Peter came by at least his shadow might fall on one of them [with healing power]. [16] And the people from the towns in the vicinity of Jerusalem were coming together, bringing the sick and those who were tormented by unclean spirits, and they were all being healed.

Ephesians 6:10-18 AMP
[10] In conclusion, be strong in the Lord [draw your strength from Him and be empowered through your union with Him] and in the power of His [boundless] might. [11] Put on the full armor of God [for His precepts are like the splendid armor of a heavily-armed soldier], so that you may be able to [successfully] stand up against all the schemes and the strategies and the deceits of the devil. [12] For our struggle is not against flesh and blood [contending only with physical opponents], but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this [present] darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly (supernatural) places. [13] Therefore, put on the complete armor of God, so that you will be able to [successfully] resist and stand your ground in the evil day [of danger], and having done everything [that the crisis demands], to stand firm [in your place, fully prepared, immovable, victorious]. [14] So stand firm and hold your ground, HAVING TIGHTENED THE WIDE BAND OF TRUTH (personal integrity, moral courage) AROUND YOUR WAIST and HAVING PUT ON THE BREASTPLATE OF RIGHTEOUSNESS (an upright heart), [15] and having strapped on YOUR FEET THE GOSPEL OF PEACE IN PREPARATION [to face the enemy with firm-footed stability and the readiness produced by the good news]. [16] Above all, lift up the [protective] shield of faith with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. [17] And take THE HELMET OF SALVATION, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God. [18] With all prayer and petition pray [with specific requests] at all times [on every occasion and in every season] in the Spirit, and with this in view, stay alert with all perseverance and petition [interceding in prayer] for all God’s people.
1 Peter 5:8-11 AMP
[8] Be sober [well balanced and self-disciplined], be alert and cautious at all times. That enemy of yours, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion [fiercely hungry], seeking someone to devour. [9] But resist him, be firm in your faith [against his attack-rooted, established, immovable], knowing that the same experiences of suffering are being experienced by your brothers and sisters throughout the world. [You do not suffer alone.] [10] After you have suffered for a little while, the God of all grace [who imparts His blessing and favor], who called you to His own eternal glory in Christ, will Himself complete, confirm, strengthen, and establish you [making you what you ought to be]. [11] To Him be dominion (power, authority, sovereignty) forever and ever. Amen.
