THOUGHT OF THE DAY
July 09,2020
Psalm 25:16-18,20-21 AMP
[16] Turn to me [LORD] and be gracious to me, For I am alone and afflicted. [17] The troubles of my heart are multiplied; Bring me out of my distresses. [18] Look upon my affliction and my trouble, And forgive all my sins. [20] Guard my soul and rescue me; Do not let me be ashamed or disappointed, For I have taken refuge in You. [21] Let integrity and uprightness protect me, For I wait [expectantly] for You.
1 Corinthians 10:13 AMP
[13] No temptation [regardless of its source] has overtaken or enticed you that is not common to human experience [nor is any temptation unusual or beyond human resistance]; but God is faithful [to His word-He is compassionate and trustworthy], and He will not let you be tempted beyond your ability [to resist], but along with the temptation He [has in the past and is now and] will [always] provide the way out as well, so that you will be able to endure it [without yielding, and will overcome temptation with joy].
2 Corinthians 1:3-4 AMP
[3] Blessed [gratefully praised and adored] be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and the God of all comfort, [4] who comforts and encourages us in every trouble so that we will be able to comfort and encourage those who are in any kind of trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.
2 Corinthians 4:8-10 AMP
[8] We are pressured in every way [hedged in], but not crushed; perplexed [unsure of finding a way out], but not driven to despair; [9] hunted down and persecuted, but not deserted [to stand alone]; struck down, but never destroyed; [10] always carrying around in the body the dying of Jesus, so that the [resurrection] life of Jesus also may be shown in our body.
2 Corinthians 12:9-10 AMP
[9] but He has said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you [My lovingkindness and My mercy are more than enough-always available-regardless of the situation]; for [My] power is being perfected [and is completed and shows itself most effectively] in [your] weakness.” Therefore, I will all the more gladly boast in my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ [may completely enfold me and] may dwell in me. [10] So I am well pleased with weaknesses, with insults, with distresses, with persecutions, and with difficulties, for the sake of Christ; for when I am weak [in human strength], then I am strong [truly able, truly powerful, truly drawing from God’s strength].
• God can USE your distress to PREPARE you for the next trial you are not yet in.
