Exodus 20:12 AMP
[12] “Honor (respect, obey, care for) your father and your mother, so that your days may be prolonged in the land the LORD your God gives you.

Proverbs 1:8-9 AMP
[8] My son, hear the instruction of your father, And do not reject the teaching of your mother. [9] For they are a garland of grace on your head, And chains and ornaments [of gold] around your neck.

Ephesians 6:2-3 AMP
[2] HONOR [esteem, value as precious] YOUR FATHER AND YOUR MOTHER [and be respectful to them]-this is the first commandment with a promise- [3] SO THAT IT MAY BE WELL WITH YOU, AND THAT YOU MAY HAVE A LONG LIFE ON THE EARTH.

My father Richard is 87 years old (if I recall correctly). My brother Harry and I have learned a lot from him. We have learned skills from him but most importantly we have learned life lessons. Of these life lessons we have learned about our Heavenly Father and Saviour and Lord Jesus Christ. We have the assurance that we WILL be in the family reunion in Heaven!

[18] The LORD is near to the heartbroken And He saves those who are crushed in spirit (contrite in heart, truly sorry for their sin).

Psalm 51:17 AMP
[17] My [only] sacrifice [acceptable] to God is a broken spirit; A broken and contrite heart [broken with sorrow for sin, thoroughly penitent], such, O God, You will not despise.

Isaiah 57:15 AMP
[15] For the high and exalted One He who inhabits eternity, Whose name is Holy says this, “I dwell on the high and holy place, But also with the contrite and humble in spirit In order to revive the spirit of the humble And to revive the heart of the contrite [overcome with sorrow for sin].

Isaiah 66:2 AMP
[2] “For all these things My hand has made, So all these things came into being [by and for Me],” declares the LORD. “But to this one I will look [graciously], To him who is humble and contrite in spirit, and who [reverently] trembles at My word and honors My commands.
