THOUGHT OF THE DAY
May 21,2020
Matthew 18:18-20 AMP
[18] I assure you and most solemnly say to you, whatever you bind [forbid, declare to be improper and unlawful] on earth shall have [already] been bound in heaven, and whatever you loose [permit, declare lawful] on earth shall have [already] been loosed in heaven. [19] “Again I say to you, that if two believers on earth agree [that is, are of one mind, in harmony] about anything that they ask [within the will of God], it will be done for them by My Father in heaven. [20] For where two or three are gathered in My name [meeting together as My followers], I am there among them.”
Acts 1:14 AMP
[14] All these with one mind and one purpose were continually devoting themselves to prayer, [waiting together] along with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with His brothers.
Acts 2:1-3 AMP
[1] When the day of Pentecost had come, they were all together in one place, [2] and suddenly a sound came from heaven like a rushing violent wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. [3] There appeared to them tongues resembling fire, which were being distributed [among them], and they rested on each one of them [as each person received the Holy Spirit].
Acts 2:46-47 AMP
[46] Day after day they met in the temple [area] continuing with one mind, and breaking bread in various private homes. They were eating their meals together with joy and generous hearts, [47] praising God continually, and having favor with all the people. And the Lord kept adding to their number daily those who were being saved.
Philippians 2:1-2 AMP
[1] Therefore if there is any encouragement and comfort in Christ [as there certainly is in abundance], if there is any consolation of love, if there is any fellowship [that we share] in the Spirit, if [there is] any [great depth of] affection and compassion, [2] make my joy complete by being of the same mind, having the same love [toward one another], knit together in spirit, intent on one purpose [and living a life that reflects your faith and spreads the gospel-the good news regarding salvation through faith in Christ].
“[2 The key to understanding this and other statements about love is to know that this love (the Greek word agape) is not so much a matter of emotion as it is of doing things for the benefit of another person, that is, having an unselfish concern for another and a willingness to seek the best for another.]”
