THOUGHT OF THE DAY

April 21,2020

Psalm 136:23 AMP
[23] Who [faithfully] remembered us in our lowly condition, For His lovingkindness endures forever;

Psalm 138:6 AMP
[6] Though the LORD is exalted, He regards the lowly [and invites them into His fellowship]; But the proud and haughty He knows from a distance.

Matthew 5:3 AMP
[3] “Blessed [spiritually prosperous, happy, to be admired] are the poor in spirit [those devoid of spiritual arrogance, those who regard themselves as insignificant], for theirs is the kingdom of heaven [both now and forever].

Matthew 5:5-6 AMP
[5] “Blessed [inwardly peaceful, spiritually secure, worthy of respect] are the gentle [the kind-hearted, the sweet-spirited, the self-controlled], for they will inherit the earth. [6] “Blessed [joyful, nourished by God’s goodness] are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness [those who actively seek right standing with God], for they will be [completely] satisfied.

Luke 1:46-56 AMP
[46] And Mary said, “My soul magnifies and exalts the Lord, [47] And my spirit has rejoiced in God my Savior. [48] “For He has looked [with loving care] on the humble state of His maidservant; For behold, from now on all generations will count me blessed and happy and favored by God! [49] “For He who is mighty has done great things for me; And holy is His name [to be worshiped in His purity, majesty, and glory]. [50] “AND HIS MERCY IS UPON GENERATION AFTER GENERATION TOWARD THOSE WHO [stand in great awe of God and] FEAR HIM. FROM GENERATION TO GENERATION. [51] “He has done mighty deeds with His [powerful] arm; He has scattered those who were proud in the thoughts of their heart. [52] “He has brought down rulers from their thrones, And exalted those who were humble. [53] “HE HAS FILLED THE HUNGRY WITH GOOD THINGS; And sent the rich away empty-handed. [54] “He has helped His servant Israel, In remembrance of His mercy, [55] Just as He promised to our fathers, To Abraham and to his descendants forever.” [56] And Mary stayed with Elizabeth for about three months, and then returned to her home.

•From a human point of view Mary had “bragging rights”.
From Mary’s point of view; she was “a lowly servant of God” who was blessed by God and to be used by God to advance His Kingdom!
